As We Strive For Workplace Gender Equality, Let's Get Mentoring Right

Workplace mentoring programs are often designed to support and empower employees. However, a recent survey released by Lean In spotlights an unintended consequence of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements: 60% of male managers are uncomfortable mentoring, working one-on-one with or even socializing with female colleagues. Organizations need to ensure their formal mentoring programs and informal sponsor relationships are diverse and support all employees.
